Unipart Rail Australia recently moved out of the Logistics site in Wetherill Park, to a dedicated warehouse and office facility in Holker Street, Silverwater. This move brought us geographically closer to our key customers and suppliers, and means we now have space dedicated to the services we provide to our rail customers.
The vision for part of the ground floor of the new building was to build a multi-functional collaborative working space where the team could come together and hold a comms cell, undergo training in the Unipart Way tools and to solve problems “On the fly” using our Creative Problem Solving ‘U” – CPS U.
Pete Burton, Operations Director, said “Being multifunctional, this area is also the first thing which visitors to Holker Street see when they enter the building and is a great space to hold Supplier and Customer meetings as you are literally immersed in the 18 principles of the Unipart Way, which is a great conversation starter. We plan to hold training events to help our Customers and Suppliers solve problems in real-time with their teams and to showcase the practical use of the Unipart Way tools and principles.
“Being digitally enabled, it also means our team (which is spread across Australia) can collaborate in real-time, and with customers, too. We were very pleased to welcome Tony Sackett (Chief Commercial Officer – International) and Neil McNicholas (Managing Director) to the site, and took them through the first recently completed CPS U (pictured).
We expect that this will be the first of many as we are now inviting our customers and local supply partners to use the space to help us help them solve their operational problems and help them improve the performance of their businesses the Unipart Way.”
